A Bit About Me...

Hello, I am Charlotte - how are you?

I thought it might be a nice idea to share a little bit of my story and how my journey led me here to becoming a doula! First and foremost, I am a Mumma to my two beautiful children, Rupert and Marnie, who are roughly 16 months apart in age. I live in Berkhamsted with my husband, kids and our pup Bertie.

Prior to this venture, I studied Real Estate to a Masters degree and have always worked in this industry in some shape or form, but have predominantly been pretty customer relations focused.

Since starting my own journey into motherhood, I've developed this burning passion for women's health, both pre and postnatally. I truly believe that this is impacted by the support families get from the get go. It became apparent after having my first baby how unprepared I was for the realities of becoming a mother (when I thought I was well prepared!), and how much new parents are let down by modern day society. We are made to believe we should be doing this all on our own, which in hand means we don't really get the opportunity to talk about how we are really feeling. The lows as well as the highs! What impact is that having on people's journeys? Couldn't we do better?

And this is where my doula journey starts. Yes, we CAN do it better. SO much better! It really does take a village to bring up a baby. We need the physical and emotional support and guidance to help us find our way into parenthood. But also, to help nurture women as they embark on this beautiful transition into motherhood. We should never forget about the mother's journey. It's just as important.

I want to help mothers and parents navigate through pregnancy and beyond. I want to make sure they feel fully educated on all potential scenarios so they are confident in their abilities, as well as being able to make their own, informed choices.

I want to help nurture the new mum, and make sure she feels heard. I want her to feel empowered, and I never want her to feel alone. Let me help you build your village. We were not meant to do this alone.
